Regency Hats and Bonnets in 12th scale
Although I have combined the Regency and Georgian periods, there are many millinery styles to be found in both eras and I have discovered and reproduced just a few of the very best below. Many of the designs are influenced by the military fashion of the times and some simply stunning bonnets and mob caps in the finest of silks were available. I have been able to track down an amazing amount of information on the techniques and workmanship of the day and have enjoyed the challenge of reproducing those skills in 12th scale for my collectors.
'Lilias'......1802 This exquisite brimless bonnet would have been all the rage at the beginning of the 19th century. Giving the wearer a vaguely military air this lovely piece is fashioned from 'ashes of roses' silk combined with embroidered tulle and fine cream braid. The stylish curled feather adds the finishing touch.
